Lindsey Deckard for Alabama Senate Internship Program

Are you a high school or college student interested in making a difference in the political system? Would you like to work this summer or coming school year for a progressive candidate in a competitive race for Alabama Senate?

Lindsey Deckard for Alabama Senate is seeking passionate candidates for volunteer internships starting now!

Work Description

Interns will be trained and equipped with a wide variety of advanced political skills and strategies—including skills in persuasion, event organizing, managing digital campaigns, and drafting campaign language. Interns will work closely with senior staff, eventually managing their own campaigns and projects—such as volunteer recruitment drives or creating digital campaigns.

Interns are expected to spend 10-20 hours per week with the campaign. Initially interns will work at the grassroots level, completing necessary practical application and practice of persuasive skills through canvassing. In addition to frequent trainings, interns will meet with the campaign weekly to monitor progress.

Successful applicants will learn a rare and powerful skill set from experts with experience on national campaigns such as the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign. Additionally, successful applicants will have a strong experience on their resume, and will be eligible for letters of recommendation from a future state senator.
